After a great inhale and exhale, someone said “the great outdoors!” and you thought that you had the great idea of starting the trip for an outdoor adventure. People have an innate desire to experience the magic of adventures but you can’t do them due to financial limitations, physical strains, or time constraints. Instead, you try to experience them by looking at the outdoors on a screen.
And so, you have to decide that there are some things that should be planned in advance to make them come true. While spontaneous plans are the thrill for some people, they could have the advantage of what you don’t. So, we are compiling a list of outdoor adventure ideas that you could plan ahead and go to when you do decide to venture into the great outdoors!
Choose Your Adventure
First of all, you need to understand that there is an activity that is suited for every person. Whether you’re enjoying the quiet and somber energy of an art gallery or mountain biking through the mountain of British Columbia, you will find out that there is an option for the type of adventure that you would like to have. You will have people that are similar in interests to you so you know that there are programs that are dedicated for what you have in mind.
Walking and Hiking
The activities of walking and hiking are two different energies: walking tours are focused over man-made, improved surfaces of concrete, gravel, or sand; and hiking tours follow the unimproved, rougher natural trails. When the term trekking is used, this is used for both terms that indicate a longer time, usually more than a week. There are many locations throughout the world that you can experience a magical walking or hiking trip so try to look for recommendations on your target country!
Dana to Petra, Jordan
The trek through the rock-strewn desert of Jordan is composed of five to six hours worth of trekking every day. While the hike is very easy for most, there are known ascents and descents. Nights are spent in tents and sleeping under the stars. At the end of this trek, people would arrive at Petra, a World Heritage site.
Patagonia
The landscape of the snow-capped Andes Mountains, lush forests, and breathtaking glaciers could be found in the southern region of Argentina. Its magical effect on people is almost unmatched.
Scottish Highlands
Like how it is seen in countless movies, the magic of the dramatic landscapes of Scotland is an experience unlike any other. Its ruined castles, enchanting lochs, green glens, and lonely moors are best suited for adults and teenagers alike! They are also accessible as well as there are countless camping sites, hotels, and B&Bs along the way!
The Canadian Rockies
The river valleys of this location are filled with wildlife that walkers and hikers would be able to see. Beasts of the land such as elk, bighorn sheep, deer, bear, and moose could be seen in this location. Campsites are available in public parks. Guided tours are the best option.
Cycling and Mountain Biking
Moab, Utah
The most popular trails in this state would be the Slickrock, Porcupine Rim, and Klondike Bluff, which attracts mountain bikers from around the world. The town near it has access to comfortable lodging and fine dining so you know that you’re not out of civilization.
Loire Valley, France
Like the quiet views of Scotland, the Loire Valley is a favorite biking destination for families because of its rustic chateaus, ancient castles, and romantic vineyards. It is very accessible and trails are considered to be easy.
Canoeing, Kayaking, and Rafting
The activity of canoeing, kayaking, and rafting may be more strenuous than may seem. Unlike other activities such as hiking or mountain biking, it may require more training and experience as a journey with water could be dangerous. Nonetheless, there are levels in which people would be able to participate despite minimal training.
Yukon Territory
The Yukon River near Whitehorse in Canada can be paddled 30 miles through the wilderness. Known throughout the world, you may be led by an experienced guide and you can fish for salmon and eat the catch each night. Be careful of black bears, moose, and beavers that you may encounter!
Tiputini River, Ecuador
You may be able to canoe for five days of magical experience through the Amazon rainforest. Each night, you shall be camping and sharing gourmet dinners prepared by local guides! If you love monkeys and exotic birds, you may be able to see many different types! It is notable, however, that you might be needing some immunization for yellow fever and Hepatitis B when you do decide to travel to this wonderland.
